Trevor Webb is an active performer and educator based in Northern Kentucky. A native of Fort Mitchell, Kentucky, he has performed with a variety of ensembles across the United States. As an orchestral musician, Trevor currently holds the position of Principal Trumpet with the Northland Symphony Orchestra (MO) since the Fall of 2020 and has subbed with the LaGrange Symphony Orchestra (GA), Columbus Symphony Orchestra (GA), Kansas City Civic Orchestra (KS), and the Kinnor Philharmonic (KS). He has also been active as a soloist and chamber musician performing a wide array of genres in Missouri, Kansas, Iowa, Georgia, Florida, and Kentucky since 2012 performing with groups such as Iowa Brass, Free State Brass Band (KS), and Brass Tower (IA).

 

Trevor identifies primarily as a teacher and pedagogue and currently maintains an active studio of private lessons. In addition to teaching privately, he has been a brass teacher in the Boone County (KY) School District since 2023. He has maintained an active studio of 10-20 students in Kentucky, Georgia, Iowa, Missouri and Kansas since 2014. In addition to performance degrees, Trevor holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree from the University of Louisville and has taught at as a teacher and paraprofessional educator across the United States.

 

Trevor is also extremely interested in musicology and music history and currently has an article in review for submission into a future issue of the International Trumpet Guild Journal. While at Columbus State University, he was actively involved in the cataloging and digitizing of the ITG archives. This included an in-depth examination of archive’s Edna White collection. This is the primary subject material of the ITG article, with an emphasis on her career as a performer and composer and an examination of her Suite for Trumpet and Orchestra and accompanying practice manual, On Taming the Devil’s Tongue… He is also an avid fan of popular music and has written extensively on rap and hip-hop from both a historical and theoretical perspective.

 

Trevor recently completed his doctorate at the University of Missouri- Kansas City Conservatory as a student of Dr. Keith Benjamin in May 2023. Former teachers include Dr. Michael Tunnell, Dr. Robert Murray, Dr. Mark Lynn, Dr. Reese Land and Bryan Crisp. He earned a masters degree in 2018 from Columbus State University and a bachelors degree in 2016 from the University of Louisville. He has performed in masterclasses with Phillip Collins (former principal trumpet, Cincinnati Symphony), Stephen Burns (international soloist), Tom Stevens (former principal trumpet, LA Philharmonic), and Bob Sullivan (principal trumpet, Cincinnati Symphony).
